GML & MML

The Institute of Mortgage Lending

To Help you stay abreast of all facets of the mortgage process, the National Association Of Mortgage Women's institute of Mortgage Lending offers the Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML) and Master of Mortgage Lending (MML) professional designation programs.

The Mark Of Professionalism

In addition to joining the exclusive group of over 100 other mortgage professionals who have received their GML and/or MML designations since 1990, you will be earning a designation that represents professionalism in the field of mortgage lending and a commitment to life-long learning. Continuous learning is a core feature of professionalism and can pave the way for continuous success on your mortgage lending career.

Are you a designated mortgage professional?

If not, why? As competition increases, customers will demand knowledgeable and well-versed individuals to access and serve their needs. If you do not understand the history of the mortgage industry, federal regulations, and all facets of the loan cycle, you may be left behind. As customers themselves become more educated about the mortgage process and available options, shouldn't you?

Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML)

The Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML) designation is conferred to those individuals who study the GML textbook and successfully pass the mid-term and final exams. Candidates must have at least one year of mortgage experience prior to starting the course. After receiving the GML, three hours of continuing education per year is required to maintain the designation.
The GML's five areas of study are:

• The Evolution of Mortgage Lending
• Major Legislation and Regulations
• The Residential Loan Cycle
• The Commercial Loan Cycle
• Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice.

The cost to register for the GML is $235 for NAPMW members and $335 for nonmembers.

Master of Mortgage Lending (MML)

Once you have received the GML designation, you are ready to proceed to the next level -- the Master of Mortgage Lending (MML). This is a prestigious designation that only a few people currently hold. The successful candidate will study the MML textbook and pass the mid-term and final exams. Six hours of annual continuing education are required to maintain the designation.
Areas of study include:
• Business Opportunities
• Marketing Strategies
• Technology
• Business Relationships
• Government Relationships
• Regulatory Compliance.

The cost to register for the MML is $295 for NAPMW members and $395 for nonmembers. The Institute offers individual registrations, as well as a corporate licensing program that provides corporations with the opportunity to participate in the Institute for their company employees.

To receive additional information on the GML or MML programs, contact the NAPMW Offices at 800/827-3034 or write to the Association at its e-mail address - napmw@aol.com

Western Region Speakers/Trainers Bureau

The Western Region Speakers/Trainers Bureau was set up this year to help Local NAPMW Associations host educational seminars with little or no cost.

If the local is within the Western Region, the Region will pay for the speaker’s transportation and one night lodging if necessary. Those speakers marked "free" have no speaking fee. Some of the speakers are restricted to a certain state, and some do charge a nominal fee but they do give NAPMW members a discount.

Anyone interested should call the speaker directly and find out pertinent facts.
